I have realized, therefore, that convenience can be a bad thing. I am in terrible danger of being very lazy now in the creation of my pictures, allowing these new powerful tools to do what I ought to be doing myself, leaving my finished pictures with a quality that didn't come from me but from a programmer at Adobe. Indeed, I think that this flaw is already obviously present in the two or three works I have worked on experimentally with this program.
Hopefully I will be able to resist the temptation to overuse the more sweeping functions in my copy of Photoshop and instead use it for the simple purposes I've been wishing for since I picked up Paint, only using the more powerful filters and such sparingly in instances that they truly help the image, not cover it up.
